With over twenty years of ministry in the Louisiana conference, Rev. Mark Goins has served churches all over the state. After graduating from Duke Divinity school, Mark served at FUMC Bossier City as Associate Pastor, Pastor at FUMC in Welsh/Hayes, and FUMC in Winnfield before moving to Gonzales. Mark’s passion for ministry is to see people experience the love of Jesus Christ and have their lives transformed by his grace.
Mark was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and grew up as a member of Noel Memorial United Methodist Church. The United Methodist church shaped every area of his life, from Sunday School, vacation bible schools, children’s choirs, church camps, district and conference youth events, mission trips and graduating from Centenary College with a Bachelors degree in Business with a minor in Economics and Computer Science.
The best part of his life is his wife of sixteen years Allison Langley Goins, a Registered Nurse, who grew up in Moss Bluff United Methodist Church. She enjoys playing in her flowerbeds, reading, and the beach. Mark and Allison have three children: Wesley who loves soccer, video games, and Reece’s Peanut butter cups; Amy grace who loves volleyball, face timing friends, and Jelly Bellies; and Addie who loves dance, cheer, and sour straws.
When not chauffeuring kids around, Mark likes to spend time with his wife, travel, duck and deer hunting, fishing, golf, New Orleans Saints, Duke Basketball, LSU Football and Baseball, exercise, and trying to find the best BBQ ribs.
