Ash Wednesday, March 6th, marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a time of self-examination, repentance, and preparation for the coming Easter. The 40 days of Lent reflect the 40 days that Christ spent in the wilderness after his baptism, enduring temptation and preparing for his ministry. Christ UMC has many Lenten season activities to help you on your journey through the Lenten season. Come join us!
Maundy Thursday is the first of three days of remembrance of the events leading up to and after the Crucifixion. The service will include a reenactment of Jesus washing his disciples' feet in addition to Holy Communion as a remembrance of the Last Supper. All are invited to attend this meaningful service.
This year we will participate in the Good Friday service at Summer Grove United Methodist church. Good Friday services focus on prayer and reflection on the death of Jesus. In that spirit, the Summer Grove prayer labyrinth will be available to help you reflect on your Lenten journey. The service is on Friday, April 19th and begins at 5:30 PM.
Join us in worship on Easter Sunday, April 21st, as we celebrate the Risen Christ! The Well Contemporary service begins at 10:45 AM, and our Traditional service begins at 11 AM. After the conclusion of each service, come with us to the front lawn, as we decorate the cross with flowers to symbolize Christ's victory over death and the beauty of a new life to come!
Join the fun on Sunday, May 5th, at our Hat Decorating Party in honor of Mother's Day. Choose from several styles available to decorate, or bring your own! There will be plenty of supplies to help you create the perfect hat to wear to church on Mother's Day, May 12th. Come and enjoy a light lunch and create the perfect hat for your Mother's Day celebration!
Christ UMC's Vacation Bible School is going to be June 9-12 in 2019. Be sure to mark your calendars for this fun-filled adventure, as we learn about God's love for us. More details to come!
